3D TV :
3D TV uses the technique of stereoscopy to transmit images which seem to have depth. Since the year 2000, 3D TV uses High Definition (HD) TV technology.

Auto-learn function :

means it is capable of learning the codes of another remote control when one is placed in front of the other.

BIS Sat TV package :
consists of 24 channels:

TF1, France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5, Direct8, TMC, NT1, NRJ12, LPC public, Gulli, Europe2 TV, BFM TV, RTL9, AB1, Mangas, Escales, Chasse et pêche, Video click, Toute l’histoire, ABMOTEUR, Mont-blanc TV and Orange .

CANAL READY :
JPG - 2.8 kb

The label CANAL READY indicates that this digital satellite receiver can receive the following programs: CANAL+, CANAL+ WEEK-END and/or CANALSAT and Initial by Canalsat thanks to a simple subscription card replacing the supplied Viaccess card. Furthermore, it is compatible 3D. Thus you can enjoy all the programs already transmitted in 3D (CANAL+ 3D; TF1 HD).

Eco-consumption :

- means power consumption of less than 1W in stand-by mode.

EPG :

lets the user:

- consult what programs are coming up in the next few days

- program a recording by selecting it in the EPG

- Search for programs according to various criteria

FRANSAT :
The FRANSAT package of French TNT (DVB-T) channels is transmitted from the satellite Atlantic Bird3 whose azimuth is 5°W. It includes 19 SD, 4 HD and 24 regional channels. Some of them like the public channels Fr2, Fr3, Fr5 and FrÔ in SD are Free To Air (FTA), and the others are encrypted by the Eutelsat VIA system.

HDMI :

- (High Definition Media Interface) is a standard and interface for digital audio/video for transmitting uncompressed encrypted streams.

- HDMI lets you connect a audio/video DRM source such as Blu-ray HD DVD Player, a Computer or a Game Console to a compatible receiver - for example a HD TV - provided that the appliances connected together are compatible with the encryption anti-copy HDCP.

Instant Replay :
Lets you "rewind" the program you are watching.
For example, lets you go back in time to watch a goal or something special again in a football match without losing the rest of the match.

LCN :

- is the automatic sorting of DVB-T channels according to the order established by the CSA (Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel).

- in the CGV Premio it can be turned off to make a custom order of the TV channels.

LNB :

- or the Low Noise Block is the receiver on the parabolic satellite dish which converts the 10.7-12.7Ghz satellite signals to a lower frequency band 1-2Ghz to avoid too much loss in the cable to the sat receiver inside your home.

- A Universal LNB can receive satellite signals with horizontal or vertical polarization in the Low or High frequency bands.

- A good quality LNB should have a Noise Figure (NF) less than 0.6dB, the most recent ones being as low as 0.2dB.

- It may be necessary to attenuate ten year old LNB’s with a NF of 0.7dB or higher by 5 to 20dB. Such an attenuator is available free of charge from CGV on application by email to info@cgv.fr explaining your problem (eg Signal 99% Quality 0%).

Macro function :

is a list of actions or keystrokes performed by a single keystroke.

OTA :

OTA or Over The Air refers to the method of updating the firmware of CGV satellite receivers by broadcasting the data from the satellite ASTRA over a short period of time of about a fortnight.

It is thus possible to update the receivers in clients’ homes without returning them to the factory.

Time Shifting :

One can put a machine on "Pause" to answer the ’phone or make a cup of tea, and then be able to continue watching the program you broke off. It’ll work for a pause of even half an hour.

Time Shifting Auto :
The Premio SAT HD-W can record the channel you are watching continuously. You can thus re-watch any action you wish, such as a goal in football. (Instant Replay). However by default this function is disabled, in case you connect a USB Memory Stick which may not have a fast enough data rate for High Definition Time Shifting.

Timer :

- The PVR recorder may need an external USB drive to be connected.
- Apart from its PVR (Personal Video Recorder) function, the Timer can turn on or off the machine, set a channel when it turns on, or show a message such as birthday greetings.
- The Timer can produce events on a "once only", daily, monthly or yearly basis.

Tuner :

is the device in the DVB-T Receiver which selects a particular UHF channel with its multiplex.
